The following is a copy of the A-21-04 Consumer Letter. Vehicles affected by this bulletin will receive notification by email to the address the vehicle is registered to.
Dear Polaris Owner,
This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person. Our records show you have purchased an affected vehicle. Polaris has reported this matter to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The reason for this notice:
Polaris has determined that the throttle speed control stop on all Model Year 2011-2021 Phoenix 200 models can break if the throttle speed control bracket is contacted with excessive force, which can lead to an interaction between the throttle lever and throttle speed control bracket that results in a stuck throttle condition, posing a crash hazard.
What you should do:
Contact your authorized Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment to have the repairs performed. This repair should take approximately 15 minutes. When contacting your dealer, discuss parts availability, their schedule, and how long they will need you to keep your vehicle.
What your dealership will do:
To address this concern, Polaris has authorized your dealer to install a new speed control bracket This work will be performed by your dealer at no cost to you.
This notice was mailed to you according to our most current registration information. If you no longer own this vehicle, or if some of the contact information in this notice is incorrect, please contact your dealer to complete a transfer of ownership. Federal law requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within 10 days.
