Dear Polaris Owner,
This notice is sent to you in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This is to inform you that your vehicle could contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person. Our records show you have purchased an affected vehicle.
The reason for this notice:
Polaris has determined the throttle lever stop on all 2018, 2019, and some 2020 Phoenix 200 models might have been damaged during shipping, which could cause the throttle limiter to not operate correctly.
What you should do:
Option 1: Contact your local Polaris Dealer at your earliest convenience to schedule an appointment to have the repair performed.
Option 2: Perform the self-inspection detailed here. If the throttle limiter is functioning as delivered or you’ve adjusted the throttle set-point and you do not observe damage to the throttle assembly (procedure attached), please complete the information on the card below, sign and return in the provided pre-paid envelope. Returning this card will ensure your vehicle's records are up to date and exclude you from future contacts from Polaris regarding this Safety Bulletin. If you’ve observed damage to the throttle assembly or are uncertain, please contact your Polaris Dealer to schedule an appointment.
DO NOT OPERATE YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL THIS SAFETY BULLETIN HAS BEEN COMPLETED BY YOUR POLARIS DEALER OR YOU CONFIRM THAT THE THROTTLE LEVER IS NOT DAMAGED.
What your dealership will do:
Your Polaris Dealer has been authorized to inspect and, if necessary, replace the throttle lever assembly and limiter on your vehicle. This work will be performed by your dealer at no cost to you.
This notice was mailed to you according to our most current registration information. If you no longer own this vehicle, or if some of the contact information included in this notice is incorrect, please contact your dealer to complete a transfer of ownership. Federal law requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within 10 days.
If you need assistance contacting or locating a Polaris Dealer, or if you have questions your Polaris Dealer is not able to address, contact our Polaris Owner Connections Department at 1-800-POLARIS (765-2747), or visit the Polaris Help Center (Canadian customers should click here to visit the Help Center).
